Ricky Gervais' lanky offsider is here for two shows. At a commanding six-foot-seven he is sure to dominate the stage and have the crowd in stitches, as he has on The Office and Extras.

His recent UK tour was hugely successful - including ten nights at London's Hammersmith Apollo - garnering universal critical acclaim. Merchant takes the mickey out of himself when he says "most people don't realise that I was a stand-up comedian before I met Ricky Gervais and his coat-tails.
