Overview

A summer of festivities continue in Auckland with the return of the Volvo Ocean Race village at Te Wero Island.

This year's Auckland stopover will mark the end of leg 4 of the race from Sanya, China, and the start of leg 5, which will lead the fleet to traverse some of the world's most hostile seas to land in Itajai, Brazil.

To coincide with the festivities, Stoneleigh Latitude wines will be available to enjoy alongside gourmet creations from Nic Watt's Japanese eatery, Masu, at a pop up al-fresco garden bar. The laid-back Stoneleigh pop up is paved with a soft artificial grass, the nearby yacht sails and a mural of Marlborough's 'Golden Mile' your backdrop.

Spend what is practically a perfect afternoon nibbling a bit of edamame or a three-part chef's sashimi selection of salmon, terakihi and hapuka, while of course sipping an award-winning Stoneleigh Latitude Sauvignon Blanc under the sun-filled open seating area.

The bar overlooks the nearby race village main stage, so depending on what time of day you stop by you could be hearing some live music or even watching the cricket on the big screen. The perfect place to soak up the Volvo Ocean Race atmosphere.

The wines on offer include - Latitude Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris and Rose - heralding from Marlborough's 'Golden Mile', and capture the essence of New Zealand's most acclaimed winemaking region. The Stoneleigh pop-up bar will be open from 11.30am to 10.00pm. For more information on the Stoneleigh Latitude Collection, click here.
