Sunday Bakery at Pah Homestead

Calling all art-lovers and treat-lovers: Sunday Bakery has popped up at Pah Homestead, home to some of Auckland's best art exhibitions — and now some of the city's best cakes, too.

The cafe is run by Emily Francis, a pastry chef who has worked as a chocolatier, baker and under the guidance of the Queen of Cakes herself, The Caker's Jordan Rondel. When Rondel made the tough decision to shut down her bricks and mortar store on Karangahape Road, Francis started running her own show, baking made-to-order cakes out of her home kitchen — and thus, Sunday Bakery was born.

After six months of baking out of her home and growing a following on social media, Francis is excited to show a wide range of hungry customers the delicious things she can create, from her signature cakes with scalloped edges, flowers and fruit, to cookie sandwiches, giant Shrewsbury biscuits, and scones.

For those that can't have a biscuit without a cuppa, Sunday Bakery has also got you covered in this department. The cafe will be offering tea from the Tea Thief and coffee from Supreme Coffee.

The bakery has set up shop at the sprawling heritage building and will be serving up delicious treats until Saturday, March 30. Sunday Bakery is open Tuesday–Friday from 9–3pm and Saturday–Sunday 8–5pm.
