Overview
Taika Waititi is one of the country's most successful filmmakers. The last decade alone saw the director, writer and actor release two top-grossing New Zealand films, co-direct and star in the vampire mockumentary What We Do in the Shadows with Jemaine Clement, and break into Hollywood with Thor: Ragnarok and the satirical black comedy Jojo Rabbit. High profile work on the horizon includes another ride through the Marvel Universe with Thor: Love and Thunder.
Academy Cinemas is holding a retrospective on the works of Waititi on Sunday, 12 January. The cinema is screening hits including Boy, Hunt for the Wilderpeople and What We Do in the Shadows. The marathon will kick off at 12.45pm, with the final film hitting the big screen at 4.30pm. Tickets are $10 for each film.
