Overview

To celebrate New Zealand Sign Language Week 2020 (21–27 September), Wellington's Garage Project has released a new beer in partnership with Deaf Aotearoa.

This year the 'Talk to the Hand' release is a dry hopped unfiltered lager. It was once again inspired by the brewery's own Ryan Cassidy who uses sign language while working on the packaging team. The labels for the release were also hand-drawn by Cassidy with letters from the NZSL alphabet.

In line with New Zealand Sign Language Week, Garage Project is marking the release with a series of parties across the country. In Auckland, beer lovers can try the lager and learn new sign language skills at Kingsland's Garage Project Taproom. On Sunday, September 27 representatives from Deaf Aotearoa will be on-site running sign language crash courses from midday so you can order your beer in sign.
