Overview
Meet Cecil, a solar powered, brightly coloured turquoise camper who cruises summer destinations luring in Kiwis in need of some clothing TLC.
Cecil's owner and entrepreneur Sarah decided there was a gap in the market for a pop-up creative space where people can get to know their neighbours, learn a new skill and at the same time, work towards a more sustainable planet.
Sarah runs her company Sew Love from her converted campervan and shows up at baby showers, school holiday programmes and even events like Splore to teach upcycling, assist with mending and remodelling clothing, and helping people create their own garments and crafts from scratch.
For Auckland Artweek, Cecil and Sarah will be parking up at the Handmade in Parnell festival, (check their website for the secret location), and Sarah will be helping turn festival-goers ripped knees and teared shirts into a work of art. With an aim to celebrate the journey your clothes have been on, Sarah takes traditional bespoke tailoring to the next level with a fresh eye for creativity and design.
BYO clothes, all mending materials and tools will be supplied.
