Overview

Running for the sixteenth and final time, The Auckland Fair this year promises to be a much more sentimental collection of New Zealand's finest exclusively handmade goodies.

Billed as our country's largest showcase of contemporary design, artisans and crafts, more than 80 creatives from across the country will present their work in what has always been regarded as a treasure trove of burgeoning New Zealand businesses.

Featuring art, homewares, ceramics, skincare, furniture, flowers, gifts, interactive stations for kids, a Mojo coffee pop-up and so much more, it's the chance to meet the makers and hear their stories which makes each and every goodie on display that much more special.

Be sure to pass by best friends Karen and Zahn who run Seed and Soul cosmetics, the fruits of their quest for sustainable skincare (suitable for sensitive and eczema-prone skin), or Busy Finch Ceramics from Christchurch-based Tatyanna Meharry who does double duty creating inspiring installations featured in national shows like the World of Wearable Arts.

Whatever your fancy, curator Jess Whiting has worked hard to establish the festival as a supportive celebration with the goal of empowering small businesses and man... she's done a cracker of a job.

Now she's off to bigger and better things, and we urge you to pop down to Shed 10 on June 18 to send this innovative event off in style.
