Overview

The Blanks Project is a culmination of the annual international art competition run by Marlborough creatives The Paper Rain Project.  150 artists entered the competition to design, pen, and ink illustrations with the key themes of nature and sustainability. The idea behind The Paper Rain Project as a whole is to combine sustainable living, quality products and art, with a local, environmentally friendly ethos that would make New Zealand proud.

Being from Marlborough, it only makes sense that there were a large number of pre-used, rather futile wine barrels about the place and so they decided to put them to good use.

The exhibition will showcase hand-shaped wine-barrel skateboards that have been used as a blank canvas by some of the most talented artists in New Zealand. Also showcased will be the best designs from the competition which have been printed onto Freeset t-shirts.

The exhibition launch on the 30th April and is set to be a humdinger with launch discounts, bespoke fair trade cocktails & live music.
