Overview

Footnote New Zealand Dance has created The Clearing, a dance theatre show described as 'cinematic', 'dark' and 'vivid'.

The work is inspired by forests, hollows and hills, and tells the story of the occupants of the clearing being caught in an otherworldly terrain and coming up against the elements as well as their own nature.

Ross McCormack, the creative mind behind the work and responsible for the choreography and set design, has performed and choreographed dance in Europe as well as Australia and New Zealand. Together with sound designer Jason Wright and lighting designer Lisa Maule, the trio bring the story to life.

Footnote company dancers Georgia Beechey-Gradwell, Tyler Carney, Joshua Faleatua, Anu Khapung, Adam Naughton depict characters and moods, taking you through otherwordly scenes. The show hits the stage on October 31 at 8pm at ASB Waterfront Theatre, with tickets starting at $39 for B reserve and $49 for A reserve.
