Overview
Christmas is just around the corner, which means it's time to chuck Michael Bublé on repeat, wrap up your last-minute shopping and go on a three-kilometre run in a Santa suit (because why not?).
The Great New Zealand Santa Run is back for 2019, giving Kiwis across the country the chance to do a fun run with a difference. Gather your friends and workmates, don a Santa suit and join hundreds of other Aucklanders on 4 December for a festive jaunt around the Viaduct, Takapuna, Albany, Te Atatu or Manukau.
Don't worry about the summer heat or having to take time off work — the run starts at 6.30pm, giving you plenty of time to prepare after work. Your entry fee includes a one-size-fits-all Santa suit, complete with a top, hat, belt, beard and trousers or skirt.
The run is open to everyone of all fitness levels, and you can opt for either the two-kilometre walk or three-kilometre run. It's all for a good cause too, with proceeds from the event going to the Graeme Dingle Foundation, a New Zealand charity dedicated to building resilience and self-belief in young people.
