The Hunting Lodge Summer Wine Down

One of our favourite ways to wile away a New Zealand summer afternoon is to park up on the grass at a local winery and eat and drink our way through the afternoon — accompanied by a soundtrack of some excellent beats, of course.

Well, Kumeu winery the Hunting Lodge is making it very easy, thanks to the comeback of its Wine Down summer series this month. The West Auckland spot has teamed up with George FM for an afternoon of house tunes, good food and even better wine.

Bring your best rug and kick back on the grass (weather permitting) at the winery's lawn bar from 12.30–8pm on Saturday, January 14. The best part? Entry is free — so you can save your pennies for those excellent Sauvignon blancs you'll be downing. Just make sure to pre-book that taxi back to the CBD.
