Overview

It seems Stephen Marr can do no wrong. Their salons are chic, their client list is celeb-ridden and their reputation is flawless. They are the people to go to if you are new to the city and in need of a mop chop, accidentally home-dyed your hair pink, or you tried a new hairdresser who attacked your tresses as though they were slaying Madusa's snakes. But aside from the fact that the group is practically perfect at what they do, they also put on a pretty impressive catwalk.

Yes, The Marr Factory is back for another year. Once again hosted at Ponsonby hotspot Golden Dawn, there will be six shows over the week of August 17-23. The upcoming lines of New Zealand's hottest fashion talent will be on display for the guests including Karen Walker, Zambesi, Nom*D, Helen Cherry, Workshop and Kate Sylvester. After witnessing the usual talent over the week, the final night of Marr wraps the event up with a showcase of the most promising talent in the industry. New labels Eugenie, Harman Grubisa, Penny Sage, Glen Prentice and Georgia Alice make up the ‘MF Gatecrashers’ night on the final Saturday 23 with an R18 event that is open to the public.

Sponsored by the launch of Viva’s new online shopping portal ‘ShopViva,’ the show's attendees will be well fed and watered generously thanks to Bombay Sapphire, Hallertau, Quartz Reef Wines and Karma Cola. Another pro of the show is the gift bag you'll receive upon entry, including a gift from one of the showcased designers, a Stephen Marr gift and M.A.C Cosmetics gift. Tickets sell like hotcakes and are limited to just 100, so if the show sounds like a bit of you, then don't beat around the bush.
