The Miltones
'70s Americana gone bluesy.
Overview
They look like a 21st-century Trapp Family Singers, gone Americana. Auckland-based outfit The Miltones are launching their debut album with a ten-date nationwide tour, which they'll be bringing to The Tuning Fork on July 22.
Expect a bluesy, '70s Americana sound with 'booty-shakin' melodies and infectious bass lines. Before you go, check out their first two singles: 'Wildfire' and 'Glory'.
Citing influences like Fleetwood Mac, Neil Young, and Ryan Adams, the band started out as a duo consisting of adolescent friends Milly Tabak and lead guitarist Liam Pratt. The years have passed, and the now five-piece have acquired iconic Lyttleton producer Ben Edwards (he of the Nadia Reid, Aldous Harding and Marlon Williams pedigree) to produce their first album.
