Overview

If you haven't heard by now, Silo Park cinema will soon be back with another season of diverse films for your viewing pleasure.

One of the standout films in the programme would have to be The Motorcycle Diaries (Diarios de Motocicleta)- the true story of Ernesto "Che" Guevara and Alberto Grando who took off on an epic motorbike journey from Argentina to Venezuela a semester before Che finished his degree in medicine and changed his life entirely.

You'll probably know Che Guevara as the Argentinian Marxist revolutionary who allied with Fidel Castro during the Cuban Revolution, if that doesn't ring a bell then you'll have no doubt seen his face in the famous 1968 Andy Warhol piece which has been reproduced on t-shirts, posters and almost every other possible surface since.

It's kind of film that will make you feel like you need to head off on an intrepid adventure to figure out what you're doing with your life or at the very least, make you feel as though you need to do a lot more good in this world. If I haven't quite peaked your interest yet, perhaps the lead actor will - I don't think there's such a thing as a bad Gael Garcia Bernal film.
