Overview

A whopping 28,000 people put their name on the waitlist for London's first nude dinner. The pop-up restaurant took the concept of casual dining to a whole new level, promising an experience free from the distractions of your complicated modern life. The phone-less and clothing-less experience has since spun off several variations around the world.

Fresh from London comes The Naked Dinner, a supper club with a twist. Hosted by Lisa and Doug, the experience encourages diners to step outside their comfort zone by stripping off for a meal. There will be no sexual activity of any kind, though the pair says "every guest experiences far more than just the food and company of others, they ride the thrill of being naked in front of people other than their lovers and discuss some of the many angles at which we view nudity."

Upon arrival, diners are greeted with a welcome drink and given an apron to change into. The apron acts as a safety net — it's up to you how much you want to reveal throughout the night. Wearing underwear is also entirely acceptable, although diners are encouraged to be daring.

There are usually eight naked guests in total. The dinner element consists of a sharing menu including nibbles, a starter, main and dessert. It's also BYO and the hosts will play a game to prompt and guide the evening's conversation.

After three naked sittings earlier in the year, another Auckland event will take place on Saturday, 27 April. The full address will be sent to ticket holders two days before the event. Dietary requirements and questions can be emailed to [email protected].
