Overview
The flourishing plant-based lifestyle is often credited for its health benefits and positive environmental impact on the planet. We already have plenty of ethically-minded eateries to choose from in Auckland, but now, there's a farmer's market entirely dedicated to the world of plants.
The Shed Collective is a new plant-based market in west Auckland's Oratia. Kicking off on Saturday, October 10, the vendor gathering will spotlight local produce and a healthy selection of vegetarian/vegan-friendly products. Vendors include Kopiko Sourdough, an organic bread company using spray-free, biodynamic grains from Canterbury; Live and Let Dry, an outfit offering dried floral arrangements; and The Oil Project, which specialises in cold-pressed hemp seed oil, hemp seeds and body products.
And where there's a market, there's food. At the first edition of The Shed Collective, from 9am until 1pm, Zeki's Turkish Bread will be slinging wood-fired pide and a range of plant-based snacks; Lulu's will have you covered with dairy-free coconut soft serve; and Miso Ra will be serving up plant-based ramen.
