Overview
Written by Richard Rodgers and performed first in 1959, The Sound of Music is an Austrian-based musical based on the memoirs of Maria Von Trapp - The Story of the Trapp Family Singers. The musical was adapted in 1965 (starring Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer), and went on to win five Academy Awards.
The production has been performed around the world - from Broadway to Buenos Aires, and will now add Auckland as another notch on its belt.
