Overview

Adhering to a plant-based lifestyle doesn't mean that you can only consume whatever ends up in the lawnmower catcher. There are plenty of mouthwatering options under the vegan umbrella. To shine a light on inventive local producers and the ethical/health benefits that come with the eating discipline, popular weekend market La Cigale will serve only vegan street food at their next Thursday night food truck event, The Truck Stop.

Launched in 2015 as a fortnightly pop-up, the food truck gathering sees some of the city's best known wheel-bound cooks park outside the Parnell institution and shift fresh and delicious street food.

Vendors pulling up their handbrake for the next vegan edition on Thursday 1 February include: plant-based burgerie Wise Boys Burgers, homemade ice cream vendors Lalele Organic Gelato, European-style chippery Double Dutch Fries, and Mexican tamale stand Las Masitas, among several others.

La Cigale will also have a variety of vegan options for dinner and dessert, along with their infamous output of French snacks and wine. Diners can turn up whenever they want between 5-9pm, eat whatever they like, and sit at the long communal tables wherever they wish.
