Overview

Celebrating their 25th year, theatre troupe Massive Company presents The Wholehearted. Known for their physically and emotionally charged theatre with an unmistakeable Kiwi bent, The Wholehearted is the latest offering from the directors and team who produced the internationally toured The Brave.

Written and developed by Massive Company through conversation with their local community, The Wholehearted weaves together vignette tales of love and devotion. Affections won, hearts conquered, advances scorned and great loves lost. The short tales cross the confines of age, gender and culture, with each piece layering and further exploring the concept of acting whole-heartedly in love, the actions and reactions in pursuit of the most complex emotion.

In keeping with Massive Company's dedication to mentoring young talent, an ensemble cast of both regarded actors (Bree Peters, Denyce Su'a, Kura Forrester, Pat Tafa) and fresh blood making their stage debut (Theo David, Villa Lemanu) performs The Wholehearted. The show debuts on Friday 1 April with a one-off koha donation performance. An artist forum will follow the show on most nights.
