Overview

UPDATE: MONDAY, MARCH 16 — The World's Biggest Boot Camp has been postponed due to the risk of COVID-19. Organiser David Lete says, "Whilst we had precautionary measures in place around health and hygiene, we believe that this is the right decision to make at this time, to avoid putting our BBM members or any part of the community at risk."

Why shred solo at the gym when you can frog squat with 2000 other people? This March, Eden Park will once again host a record attempt for The World's Biggest Boot Camp.

Last year the free workout held by health campaigner David Letele featured a record attempt for the most people simultaneously performing a frog squat. The event attracted nearly 2000 people. This time around the group session will feature a mass run out through Eden Park's famous tunnel followed by a pōwhiri, haka and national anthem.

Letele, who once weighed over 200 kilograms, has dedicated his life to battling New Zealand's obesity epidemic. He founded The World's Biggest Boot Camp event in conjunction with Eden Park as a way of bringing attention to the obesity epidemic afflicting Kiwis — Māori and Pasifika Kiwis in particular. He said the most important thing at the challenge is for people to "get out there, get active and help spread the message that obesity and its negative health impacts can be overcome."

The World's Biggest Boot Camp will descend on the country's national stadium on Sunday, March 22. Register your attendance here.
