Thomas Oliver
Roots, blues, slide guitar, and a Jurassic Park rendition.
Overview
Wellington guitar slinger Thomas Oliver is so excited about the new material he’s conjured up in the studio, he’s dropping tools to perform some of it during two shows in Auckland and Wellington.
Oliver is best known as the frontman of his rootsy blues band, aptly named the Thomas Oliver Band. He set off on a solo mission last year to release an all instrumental, Weissenborn lap slide guitar album - which just happened to include a rendition of the Jurassic Park theme. Having also lent his vocals to tracks for Concord Dawn and Trei, Oliver says his new material will build on his passions for the Weissenborn and electronic music.
