Overview

Popular viaduct spot Soul Bar & Bistro will be transformed into a runway as Trelise Cooper gears up to present her sumptuous Spring and Summer 15/16 collections before an awaiting fashionable crowd. Upon arrival you’ll be greeted with a glass of Mumm Champagne, followed by a three-course lunch prepared by award-winning chefs who ensure that Soul Bar & Bistro remains on the forefront of Auckland gastronomy. With the guests satiated and hydrated, the show begins.

Cooper takes her clique to the Palace of Versailles for Spring 2015, inspired by rebellious Queen, Marie Antoinette and her notorious taste for opulence. Finding inspiration in the line “Let them eat cake,” the season’s palate is frosting appropriate colours of buttercream, pink, powder blue and lilac. The palace’s gardens inform a romantic botanical print and the use of lace and tulle is given a rebel edge through punctuations of black.

Summer 2016 is a journey to the lush jungle and tea plantations of India, lending itself well to a menagerie of prints, weightless lace and broderie anglaise. Contrasting the exotic with Edwardian refinement gives modest lengths a wild side and keeps the collection’s expressive prints on their best behaviour.

The very generous ticket price includes a $20 donation to Breast Cancer Cure, a flute of chilled champagne and a delectable three-course lunch. Of course, what fashion show would be complete without a take home goodie bag?
