Overview
If you haven't heard of him already, Sam Brooks is a name you should know. The 25 year old playwright is hitting the ground running with a series of plays already under his belt, and a new one fresh to The Basement this February.
Twenty Eight Millimetres suggests nothing more than the distance between two characters, however we know that more will be delved into once the play commences. With a particular stance for individual equality and expression, Brooks tackles tough topics such as mental illness with a sensitive approach.
"It's a love story of many parts – the story of love between two men, between boyfriends, between husbands, between brothers, between people left behind."
His writing is far beyond his years, and already he has a team of talented creatives behind him, including director Sam Snedden (Abigail's Party, The Opening Night Before Christmas) and actors Tim Earl (The Curious Incident of The Dog in The Night-Time), Geordie Holibar (Riding in Cars with (Mostly Straight) Boys) and Dan Veint (Brokenwood Mysteries).
