Overview
As the sun goes down on Ellerslie Racecourse come December 10, one of the fanciest events on the Auckland social calendar will be in full swing. Organisers of this year’s annual Twilight Summer Series have made the promise that the focus is as much on the horses as it is on the party.
As well as six fast-paced horse races playing out on the track, the event will include entertainment from resident DJ Kieran Bell. Those looking to make an occasion out of it can book their own private mini marquees, set up on the Champagne Lawn for an alfresco dining experience, sit at tables with their very own TVs in the clubrooms, or join the real party in general admission.
A post-race jockey weigh-in will also move outdoors for all in attendance to see, and to possibly place bets on who's the heaviest.
