Overview

Following a succession of sold out concerts and a world tour, the phenomenal Ukulele Orchestra Of Great Britain are coming back to New Zealand for two dates at the Auckland Town Hall (and one date at the Bruce Mason Centre on Sunday, February 24 2013.)

Incredibly entertaining and described as having an irresistible rapport with the audience, the Ukulele Orchestra Of Great Britain are loved by many for their trademark style of no-nonsense-rock-and-roll-on-the-wrong-instruments, and their virtuosic, twisted covers of all-time classics like Black Sabbath and Michael Jackson, and modern favourites like Adele and Lady Gaga.

Described by The Independent as being “worth travelling a thousand miles to hear” their new show will ensure you never look at ukulele music in the same way again, as it moves from well-known covers to sounds of triumphant war-horses and poignant lollipops of classical music, along with quirky pieces that completely defy classification.
