Love is more important than cultural and ethnic divides.

Overview

Addressing the serious topic of child neglect, artist Andy Leleisi'uao emphasises that love is more important than cultural and ethnic divides. This is a continuation of a contemplative narrative for the artist.

Acknowledging that the themes of the work may stir up emotion, a response booth has been set up in the gallery should you wish to do just that, respond.

Leleisi'uao was this year's paramount winner of the Wallace Art Awards and will soon embark on a six-month residency in New York City.

Living and residing in Māngere he utilises painting and installation, with iconography rooted indiasporic cultural and urban underpinnings. He has been immersed in the art world since 1995 and gained a Masters degree, with first class honours, in 2002 from AUT.
