Overview

Liquid drum and bass dominates Cassette Nine this Saturday as London-born heavyweight Utah Jazz takes the stage with support from Wandabar, Lacquer, Andy Currey and Daize.

Funky, inviting and nothing short of experimental cool, Luke Wilson (aka Utah Jazz) has carved a name for himself on the scene producing sublime strains with '70s soul, and certainly poses one great reason to stay put this Queen's Birthday weekend.

The North London DJ started producing under the tutelage of Alex Reece in the '90s randomly adopting the name 'Utah Jazz' from the US basketball team of the same name to showcase his preference for the mid '90s jazz-jungle sound. In 2008, his debut album It's A Jazz Thing was released to critical acclaim, cementing his position as a major cross-over artist. Utah's appearance is part of the Misfits club night.
