Waiheke Wine and Dine

Banish those winter blues by cosying up by the fire with a glass of red at one of Waiheke's gorgeous wineries.

If Waiheke isn't on your winter weekend getaway list, you need to remedy that ASAP. The island's beaches and wineries make it a tourist hotspot during summer but in winter it empties out — making it the perfect time for Auckland locals to head across for an afternoon of good food and wine, just 40 minutes from the CBD.

The team at Fullers360 ferries are making it especially easy with their Winter Wine and Dine package — a $125 ticket gets you a return ferry ride over to the island, a glass of wine and a seasonal multi-course lunch at one of the cosy wineries.

Cable Bay Vineyard is putting on a burrata pizza paired with your choice of Awatere Valley range, Batch Winery is holding a high tea with a glass of rosé and Stonyridge is whipping up gram-worthy platters and a glass of syrah. Chef's kiss.

Bookings are essential and available every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, up until October 2022.
