Overview

Celebrate Waitangi Day 2013 at the majestic Bastion Point, Orakei, Auckland. Set against the stunning backdrop of the Waitemata Harbour and Rangitoto Island – this is truly a spectacle to attend.

The music lineup includes some of NZ"s finest musicians such as Dave Dobbyn, Katchafire, 1814, Good Shirt and Che Fu. Outside of the concert area there will also be a wide selection of food, kites, arts and an outstanding range of fun kids rides including the 50m long zipline, mini jeeps, water balls and much more.

Bastion Point is one of New Zealand’s iconic locations, most famous for the occupation by Ngati Whatua o Orakei in 1978 who protested against the confiscation of their lands. It is a place of social change and holds much wairua (spirit) and memories for so many people. Ngati Whatua o Orakei who now own the lands have agreed to hold a celebration for all New Zealanders to enjoy in a festive musical showcase.

With a stellar lineup - this will be a day not to miss.
