Overview

Fans of music, comedy, audience participation and tiny instruments will be pleased to know that the Wellington International Ukulele Orchestra are packing up their four-strings and hitting the road.

In support of their long awaited debut album Be Mine Tonight, the ensemble will perform 15 shows from Invercargill to Keri Keri, and everywhere in between. Be Mine Tonight is a collection of well-known contemporary and classic New Zealand songs, reinterpreted to accentuate their charming humour and fit their instrument of choice. As well as the core members, the album features guest appearances from Lisa Tomlins, Hawaiian ukulele artist Pi’ikea Clark and Canadian ukulele star James Hill and a Shortland Street cast member.

The celebratory tour will finish up with two shows in the band’s hometown.
