Take the train to the end of the Southern Line and make your way to the Franklin Arts Centre for this exhibition of New Māori Ceramics.

Eight Māori artists explore a range of responses to the physical and conceptual properties of clay.

Artists include: Dan Couper, Tracy Keith, Davina Duke, Rachael Rakena, Hana Rakena, Stevei Houkamau, Jess Paraone, Aaron Scythe and Hera Johns.

The travelling exhibition is curated by Karl Chitham, the Director of the Tauranga Art Gallery, and Kim Paton, Director of Objectspace. Karl says it is a snapshot in the evolution of uku practice as it exists today, "It has a unique flavour, highlighting the diverse approaches of each artist, while also making a distinct statement about contemporary Māori art produced today."
