Overview

If you’re one for grapes of the fermented variety and prefer your music homemade, get ready to snap up tickets for next year’s eagerly anticipated Winery Tour 2015. The lineup features kiwi legends Dave Dobbyn and Don McGlashan performing together, joined by Supergroove and Anika Moa.

Now in its 9th year, one of the country’s most iconic summer tours is set to play nine shows in nine wineries across New Zealand from late January to March. If you’ve never happened across this tour for yourself before, let me quickly explain what to expect. You’ll show up to the incredibly picturesque winery of your choice from across the country, picnic blanket in tow, and proceed to find a cosy spot amongst the vines where you can sit back and relax with a top notch glass of vino while listening to some of the best Kiwi acts, like ever, perform live.

After touring together across Australia and the UK, Dave Dobbyn and Don McGlashan are finally bringing their duet set to kiwi audiences, and they plan on playing as many hits as they can possibly fit into a ninety minute show. As for the rest, Supergroove is a musical force in itself, featuring the legendary Che Fu, and wonderful, mostly barefoot and longtime winery tour favourite Anika Moa completes the lineup.

In the North Island, the 2015 tour is set to hit up Tauranga, Auckland, Matakana, Havelock North, Martinborough, Hamilton and New Plymouth. As for the Southerners, they’ll be grooving in Nelson and Christchurch.

In summary of this tour of homegrown wine-induced awesomeness, Che Fu says it best - "This summer is gonna be leeeegend. So lookin’ forward to rockin’ stages with my SG broski's and of course with Anika, Don, and Yoda (he means Dave). Yeee haaaaa!"

You heard him folks. Earlybird tickets are on sale 28th October, so get ready to snap up some picnic blanket space at your nearest vineyard, or round up your mates and make a weekend of it at a show farther afield. Either way, I guarantee the evening will be a little slice of heaven.
