The event billed as the 'greatest celebration of New Zealand wine' returns to Auckland this May for two days of wine swirling.
The lineup for Winetopia 2021 boasts wineries from every wine producing region in the country — particularly the bumper 2020 vintage. As well as offering far too many varietals to swallow in one sitting, the event will give attendees the opportunity to meet winemakers, discover what terms like 'hue', 'flabby' and 'tannins' mean at tasting masterclasses, and school up on tricks from sommeliers about food and wine matching.
Leading wine gurus Bob Campbell and Cameron Douglas will be on hand to share knowledge across free 40-minute talks and tastings. You can then put your newfound knowledge and palate to the test during blind tasting sessions. Winetopia has also asked featured wineries to bring along premium wines pushing over $100 per bottle. Ticket holders can taste the acclaimed drops using 'Golden Coins'.
General admission to Winetopia includes a glass and your first five tastings.
