Overview

You no longer need to make the journey to Pukekohe sample the goods of Winner Winner. The Hamilton-born chicken spot is bringing its crispy fried bird across the bridge to Takapuna. The new outpost at 16 Anzac Road will be the fourth location for the chook chain — and to celebrate it's giving away 100 free lunches.

When the Takapuna digs open at 11am on Monday, November 30 the first 100 customers through the door will get a free basket of fried chicken. Winner Winner's free-range chook is brined for 12 hours, fried in buttermilk batter and then served in your choice of spice level alongside pickles and ranch dipping sauce.

For those who want something extra, the North Shore store will also offer the full menu, from chicken sandwiches to gravy rolls, loaded fries, mac 'n' cheese, tater tots and charred greens.
