Overview

This adaptation of the popular BBC television series has become London’s biggest hit comedy in decades. Antony Jay and Jonathan Lynn penned the first episodes of, as it was known then, Yes, Minister back in 1980. It was an instant hit - their characters and situations revealing the deliciously awkward marriage between civil servants and politicians. More than 25 years later, the same writers have done it again and created the play Yes, Prime Minister.

Set in the present day in the oak panelled drawing room of the British Prime Minister’s country residence, the embattled Prime Minister, assisted by cabinet secretary Sir Humphrey Appleby and principal private secretary Bernard Woolley are facing their greatest challenge yet. The play brngs the riotous inner workings of Westminster to the New Zealand stage. It's a side-splitting foray into the comedy of politics and intrigue.
