Overview

Marking the release of their sophomore EP, Luminols, Yoko-Zuna will take the stage at the Kings Arms Tavern this long weekend.

The four-piece - made up of Frank Eliesa (keys, synth, bass), Swap Gomez (drums, percussion), Kenji Iwamitsu-Holdaway (guitar, bass) and JY Lee (saxophone and flute) - are known for their collaborative efforts, roping in emcees to spit over their free-flowing brand of electronic-hip hop. Their debut album featured local hip hop heavyweights David Dallas, Bailey Wiley and members of Team Dynamite.

Recorded at Auckland's Red Bull Studios, Yoko-Zuna's new release Luminols is another prime example of the band's collaborative nature, feature cameos from the likes of P-Digsss (Shapeshifter), Tom Scott (Average Rap Band, Home Brew), Laughton Kora (Kora), LarzRanda, Heavy and Lukan Rai$ey. The forthcoming release show will be a good one for those after a sonically pleasing night out or just yearning to witness some of the band's new material in the flesh.

Support from Lukan Rai$ey, Miloux and LarzRanda. The first act will take the stage at 9pm.
