Auckland City Limits has unveiled an appetizing selection of restaurant food outlets to accompany Beck, Grace Jones, Future and forty more acts playing in the green fields of Western Springs on March 3.

The festival has once again employed chef Che Barrington (of The Blue Breeze Inn, Woodpecker Hill, Honey Bear) to curate a lineup of restaurants, including one forthcoming CBD opening, under the Auckland Eats banner. He has challenged a selection of high-end chefs to create "hand carry portions" of their signature dishes at the day-long festival. Che will bring a stripped back version of Ponsonby's The Blue Breeze Inn to Western Springs. Look out for the immensely popular steamed pork belly buns and mushroom dumplings.

Television chef Josh Emett and business partner Fleur Caulton's will bring their hawker rolls to Auckland Eats this year. Drawing on Malaysian flavours straight from the streets of Penang, Hawker & Roll will be offer three varieties encased in flaky roti: pulled pork, chicken and eggplant.

Elsewhere, attendees will have the choice of Sergio Maglione's slick Italian eatery Farina, which will be serving Napoletana pizza, arancina balls and tiramasu; Britomart's modern Vietnamese eatery Café Hanoi will offer banh mi and noodle salads; while Satya Chai Lounge will be hawking its infamous kurryaage and masala fries.

Festival-goers will also get to preview new inner city venture Lowbrow before it opens on Queen Street later this year. The eatery comes from Kyle Street and Jordan Macdonald, the brains behind contemporary yum cha restaurant Culprit. Lowbrow will serve fresh and seasonal fast food — an approach they call "DzGood Fooddz" — including natural wine, smoked brisket, sandwiches and more. Menu items at ACL will include spiced fried chicken, skin-on fries with MacD sauce and a honeynut sundae.

Auckland City Limits 2018 will take place on Saturday 3 March across Western Springs Stadium, the surrounding fields and lakeside park.
