Auckland Restaurant Month Returns in August With Speciality Menus, Masterclasses and Dining Events
The month-long food gala returns with long lunches, intimate dining experiences and price point menus.
Attention Auckland foodies: the time is nigh to put your diet on hold and dust off those stretchy pants. Auckland Restaurant Month is returning this August, bringing its signature lineup of specially curated $25, $40 and $55 menus at well-loved eateries and the city's best-kept secrets.
Now in its 12th year, the 2022 iteration of Restaurant Month boasts over 100 special menus and dining events throughout the city centre.
The Chef Dining series has always been a staple feature of the month-long celebration, hosting international chefs for collaborative dining experiences. This year several key players in the city's hospitality scene are putting on a show — and a feast. Renowned chef Sean Connolly is taking attendees on a tour of the Mediterranean with a four-course family feast at Esther, while Rob Hope-Ede will be taking diners on a six-course 'Kiwi Road Trip' at Onemata. Also on the lineup are margarita masterclasses, a Bollywood night and an evening dedicated to sampling dry-aged steaks and accompanying wines.
If you have a long-awaited catch-up with a friend in the diary, do it over one of the participating bars' Social Hour: just $45 gets you two cocktails and a sharing plate.
And of course, the main driver of many diners are the speciality menus of Restaurant Month which always have something for all persuasions and wallet sizes. Full menu details for each of the $25, $40 and $55+ menus will be arriving later this month, but currently, we can confirm that some of the city's best eateries are participating, including East, Le Chef, The Lula Inn, and many more.
Auckland Restaurant Month is organised each year by Heart of the City and runs from August 1 - August 31. Find more information at the official website.
