Auckland's Much-Loved Daily Bread Bakery Is Now Offering Nationwide Delivery
Load up on fermented oat sourdough, spicy hot cross buns and one of the trickiest pastries in the world to master.
Those in the outer regions yearning for a fresh-baked hazelnut croissant or sourdough loaf from Auckland's Daily Bread will no longer need to make their way to the big smoke. The bakery and deli run by Orphans Kitchen's Tom Hishon and Josh Helm, together with 22nd generation German baker Patrick Welzenbach, has started offering overnight delivery to all of Aotearoa.
The much-loved outfit has been operating out of an art deco building in seaside suburb Point Chevalier since 2018. Five satellite stores can now be found dotted across the city for on-the-run baked goods. Pillowy croissants, doughnuts, cardamom morning buns and the bakery's legendary sourdough — made from a 600-year-old starter — have previously only been available by delivery in Auckland region.

Those outside of Auckland placing an order before 3pm can now receive a fresh Daily Bread drop the next day. Put that sourdough starter back where it came from and load up on fermented oat loaves, milk burger buns, spicy hot cross buns and one of the trickiest pastries in the world to master, the kouign—amann.
Daily Bread recommends New Zealand-wide delivery for hot cross buns and sourdough items only — next day croissants are never quite as good. Delivery is free for orders over $100, so why not bump on Daily Bread's espresso blend by Coffee Supreme?
