Where to find your next hunk of burning love.

Not strictly a destination for heavenly buns, much-loved burger joint Burger Burger will play cupid this Valentine's Day (well, the day before) with its annual Blind Dates event.

Over the past five years the burger joint has held the matchmaking event as an antagonist to online swiping and questionable dating terms like kittenfishing, ghosting and breadcrumbing. The Valentine's celebration invites singles to put their hearts on the line to see if they can meet their next hunk of burning love (or date for the night, at least). In past years the speed dating event has attracted singles by the hundreds for food, drink and mingling.

Hopefuls this year will be able to enter themselves or a single friend into the dating pool via the Burger Burger website. From there, the expert matchmakers will choose lucky lovers to attend Blind Dates parties in Auckland, Christchurch and Tauranga to partake in hosted speed dating, followed by mingling, awkward chats, drinks and nibbles, and hopefully a few sneaky pashes.

The Auckland event will be held on Thursday, 13 February. Entry will include the goods from sponsors Aperol Spritz, The Sawmill Brewery, Almighty, Soho Wine Co. and Momo Wine.
