Attendees at this year's ASB Classic were treated to an early preview of SKYCITY's newest restaurant, Spice Alley. The contemporary pan-Asian eatery popped up at the tournament tempting tennis lovers with fish Madras curry, fiery chicken salad and steamed bao.

The restaurant has now officially opened its doors in the SKYCITY dining precinct offering an array of hawker-style street food and sharing dishes from Southeast Asia. Head chef Panthep (Pan) Sae Sue comes with 25 years experience under his belt. He describes his cooking style as "easy," using quality ingredients and creating uncomplicated dishes that are full of passion and flavour. His menu at Spice Alley is led by flavours from his Chinese and Thai heritage, and from his service across Sri Lanka, Singapore and Vietnam.

Diners at the casual eatery can expect enhanced classics like: duck confit rice paper rolls, sticky pork ribs with lemongrass sauce, Vietnamese rice pancakes, Sri Lankan lamb shank curry and green rice fried ice cream. The cocktail list also features familiar Southeast Asian flavours like lemongrass, lime leaf, ginger, lychee, mango and coconut cream, while the beer list includes inoffensive drops like Bintang, Hanoi Beer, Tingsao and Singha available by bottle.

Spice Alley is located on Level 3 in SKYCITY, nearby Andy's Burgers & Bar, and offers seating to 100 diners. It's open now from 12–3pm and 6-10pm, seven days.
