Overview

While the idea of perching yourself at an establishment for the afternoon sounds lovely, it just doesn't quite compare with the newest offering from Helitranz. The North Shore chopper company has come up with a novel way to showcase the beautiful surrounds of Auckland while allowing customers to get their fill of quality beverages. Enter: New Zealand's first pub crawl by helicopter.

As well as letting you ride in a chopper, the three-hour experience includes pitstops at some of the region's best destination breweries. From Helitranz's headquarters, the trip commences with a scenic flight along the coast before turning inland at Omaha. The first drinks break is at Sawmill Brewing's newest outpost in Matakana. Onward, you'll roll up in style to the 130-year-old Puhoi Pub and Stables, where after sampling the local pilsner and being treated to the Puhoi Valley cheese and bacon burger, punters have the choice of flying directly back to the beginning or catching a mini-bus to Riverhead's Hallertau Brewery to continue the shenanigans.

Ringing in at $559 per person (when five or more travel), it's probably best suited for a special occasion. Visit the Helitranz website for more information. And please drink responsibly.
