Overview
Fresh juice is pretty awesome. Not that this is a new discovery. Judging by the influx of health food/juice bar/cold press/all you can eat kale places that have popped up in the city in the last little while – it appears we are all trying to hit our five a day. Okay, maybe the kale smorg never caught on, but so many of us are substituting a juice for breakfast, adding one to the side of our quinoa salad or doing monthly juice cleanses (author somewhat dubiously included). If you want the best places to recharge city wide, have a read through below. Green, red, orange, murky brown – we've got you sorted.
Little Bird
One of the first on the block for cold pressed juices and still the best when it comes to a proper knock your socks off green juice. Listen carefully and you can hear your body thanking you after a big night out. (As an aside, the creamy mushrooms on sprouted bread is actually the best thing in existence if you need something more substantial to pair it with. Trust me, and thank me later.) little bird offers a few different options for juice cleanses if you're keen on a more intense juice-fest as well.

Well+Good
The new kid in City Works Depot, Well+Good, opened up late last year. The team have been cranking out a ton of juices and other healthy options non-stop since the doors unlocked in October. In a very pretty, modern, and open space, you can settle in with your laptop and pick from a variety of options (and taste test if you'd like to beforehand with the informative staff). Alternatively, you can pick up a three day juice cleanse, if you're feeling brave.

Wedge Juice Bar
Wedge Juice Bar is to the left as soon as you walk into Elliot Stables; a little nook in the wall and full of, well, juice. And personality. There are a ton of different juice combinations you can choose from, or custom make your own. Depending on the combination, the lack of an appealing colour will definintely be overulled by how super tasty it is – especially after a 3km walk from the closest park you could find in the CBD. Pair one with the many food choices that make up the great stables food hall or grab one to go.

Sip Kitchen
Venture down Apollo Drive and in an unassuming building, in an unassuming business district is Sip Kitchen. Light, airy and full of fun stuff when you walk inside, it's pretty unexpected considering it's location. Some juices are cold pressed and ready to go, served in very handy glass bottles while other's are juiced while you wait – but buyer beware: white shirts and turmeric juices are not an ideal combination on bumpy roads.

Ceres Fresh Market
Fittingly placed in the middle of the fruit and veg market in Ponsonby Central is a variety of different juices (and smoothies if you're appeasing the younger ones), made by brilliant staff who will patiently wait forever while you read the list three times over trying to decide. Good luck walking by the crepes and Argentinian BBQ on the way out though.

Tank Juice Bar
You can't compile a list of juice bars and not include the one that was around before it became trendy. Tank is everywhere (over 50 stores nationwide), and offer juices that are consistant, quick and tasty, in a variety of flavours and sizes.

Urban Fuel Juice Bar
In a shopping mall devoid of much shopping, tucked into a very sleepy corner is Urban Fuel. The only place I've found that offers tomato as a juice option, they also sell a smaller size option for a bargain $4. Worth the detour if you're in the area and need a healthy pick me up.

Oob Organic Café
If you're heading up north and driving through Matakana, a stop at Oob Organic Café is a must do. And although the ice creams are to die for (orange chocolate chip), they also whip up a pretty delicious juice which is probably a little bit more forgiving than the triple scoop of hokey pokey. Or get both, they must neutralise eachother or something. Try: Fruit Fusion, made with apple, orange and Oob's very own, and very famous Omaha organic blueberries.
