There's no question the silly season and warmer days encourage celebrating with an alcoholic beverage or two, and those extra Christmas calories are not too far away. To remedy feeling guilty about indulging in a few social summer drinks there's now a new workout designed to cut the calories equivalent to three bottles of Heineken Light.

The bespoke 30-minute workout has been created in collaboration with former The Bachelor star Art Green and personal trainer Sean Hughes. The exercise plan is designed to burn 72 calories per 10 minutes and is performed as a high intensity circuit that aims to get your heart rate up with the use of functional body weight exercises.

Over the next two weeks Green will front the bootcamp-style workout sessions at Next Generation Gym, taking willing participants through the intensive fitness regime in time for summer. As a fitness enthusiast who is conscious of what he is putting into his body Green says he is really excited to unveil the workout. "It uses no equipment, just your bodyweight. And it's very diverse and pretty much works every muscle in your body. It's something that you can do in the comfort of your own lounge and only takes half an hour."

He said with staying active comes with so many advantages but for him and others one major benefit from staying fit or at least from moving is the positive effect mentally.

Elite performance trainer Sean Hughes said health has an impact on the way we live life daily and it's important to be conscious of how it can positively affect life in general. "Health is everything from eating to sleeping to dealing with stress to exercising to how you deal with people and your relationships so it's a big a thing. If you're healthy you're going to be better at everything that you do overall."

The Heineken Light Bootcamp at Next Gen Health & Lifestyle Club will run from December 6 through to December 15, 2016.
