Overview
Australian ice creamery Gelato Messina is celebrated for producing some of the best gelato outside Italy. By using 100-year-old Sicilian gelato-making techniques and premium ingredients, the company has established a dedicated following who aren't bothered queuing around the block for a joyous scoop. As well as a range of addictive gelato flavours the company is known for its wacky creations; from ice cream cigars to ice cream hamburgers and an ice cream inspired by an air freshener.
Previously only available across the ditch, Gelato Messina will set up at this year's Auckland Night Noodle Markets. The famous gelato company will bring two flavours to the event at Victoria Park from December 1-10, including the mouth-watering It's Sherberth Day, a white chocolate-lined cone, which comes filled with mango sherbet, vanilla cream and mango jellies, and then dipped in white chocolate.
If Messina's appearance at Brisbane's Night Noodle Markets is anything to go by, you can also expect an Asian-inspired ice cream made with miso gelato, lychee tapioca, dragonfruit jellies and sweetened coconut Thai milk tea, and deep-fried coconut and palm sugar gelato with passionfruit caramel and mango pudding.
The Night Noodle Markets will take place at Victoria Park from 1-10 December. Entry is totally free and dishes will range from $5-$15. The event is also cashless so you'll only be able to pay with credit card or EFTPOS.
