Forget about packing your lunch this Friday. Kai on Queens launches tomorrow, December 6, on Queen's Wharf and will run through summer.

Every Friday from 11:30am – 2:30pm Auckland’s downtown workers can head down and experience some different food, sunshine and being serenaded by live music during their lunch break.

A wide selection of street food vendors and food trucks will be available for lunch, including tacos from The Lucky Taco, gelato from The Cool Store, juices and smoothies from The Beverage Boy, pizza from Spumpy’s Grill and much more. To set the mood, there will also be a rotating cast of local DJ’s playing such as Bobby Brazuka, Chris Cox and Hudge.

After working up quite the food baby, you can burn some calories playing some of the oversized games that will be set up, such as connect four, scrabble and jenga. There will be some regular sized games too, like table tennis and swing ball. For free.

Kai on Queens is part a wider summer activation program at Queen's Wharf, which will include free weekly outdoor concerts, exhibitions, workshops, installations, drawing clubs, markets and yoga. Fun times.
