Overview

Mt Eden's Merediths has officially been serving up its elite degustation menu for ten years. To mark the decade-long stint, the restaurant has enlisted a group of top tier chefs to take the reigns of the kitchen.

Like any experience at Merediths, diners can expect to walk out submerged in flavour. No corners have been cut with the collaborators, and throughout the year chef Michael Meredith will welcome everyone from Ben Shewry—the chef behind Australia's number one and currently 32nd best restaurant in the entire world, Attica; Jeremy Rameka— a two-time best regional restaurant winner with his French-Pacific offering, Pacifica Restaurant; Peter Gunn— the name behind exclusive Melbourne permanent pop-up, IDES; and Aaron Turner— a man known for serving up leaves that taste exactly like oysters at his Geelong degustation-only restaurant, Igni.

The first of the event series on May 12 will see NZ-born Peter Gunn step up to the plate for a six-course degustation with wine matches. Before setting up a monthly pop-up, Gunn could be found as the sous chef at Attica. Branching out on his own proved successful with IDES soon chalking up an outrageous waiting list and forming into a full-time restaurant. Gunn is known for his big, bold flavours and creating wonders like peanut-infused butter and saffron ice cream.
