If you've ever gazed upon a beautifully-frosted Christmas tree and thought, "those decorations look good enough to eat", your time has finally come.

Auckland's cult classic ice creamery Giapo has finally been brave enough to combine the beauty of Christmas with the deliciousness of chocolate, teaming up with De'Longhi to create a giant edible gingernut tiramisu-stuffed Christmas tree bauble.

Available this week from Giapo's CBD store, the bauble's interior is a mix of mascarpone cream and handmade gingernut bikkies that have been soaked in espresso. That's all encased in a dark chocolate shell, and dusted with golden powder to create something almost too pretty to eat.

Of course, you could hang it on your tree instead, but things might get a bit sticky, especially with Auckland's current humidity levels.

Instead, we'd say it's the perfect dessert you've earned after putting up your tree this week, or perhaps a little something to take along to a festive gathering.

Retailing for $22 each, the De'Longhi x Giapo edible Christmas Tiramisu Bauble will be available from December 10 — December 26, from Giapo's CBD store, 12 Gore Street, Auckland.
