Queen Street's Hokkaido Is Introducing Cheesy Soft Serve Ice Cream

Nothing says summer like cheese ice cream.

Malaysian chain Hokkaido Baked Cheese Tart made our cheese dreams come true last month by bringing their savoury-sweet three-cheese situation to New Zealand for the first time.

Now, in preparation for the warmer months, the company has unveiled a new and totally bonkers delight for hardcore cheese lovers. Because nothing says summer like a big ol' scoop of melting ice cream, the Hokkaido Baked Cheese Tart team has taken its infamous sweet and salty three-cheese filling and turned it into a cheesy soft serve.

From September 26, two flavours of the ice cream will be available at Auckland's Queen Street store. The Say Chizu apparently stays true to the original Hokkaido Baked Cheese Tart filling, while the Berry Berry Legendary combines creamy cheese with strawberry. Both come served in a waffle cone.

We can't yet vouch for the combo of cheese and soft serve, though it has been described as the perfect combination of sweet and savoury. Bring on summer?
