Lilian Has a Secret New Off-Menu Cocktail You Have to Know About to Order
But luckily we do know about it, so you can tell them we sent you.
Feel like being part of an exclusive club? Don't we all. Well great news — we have the inside word on a secret menu item from one of the city's hotspots, and we've been given permission to share it.
Grey Lynn wine bar and eatery Lilian has carried an exclusive vibe since its opening in 2019: it's devilishly tough to get into and the dishes each carry a cult following. Especially that tiramisu. IYKYK.
Now it's only increasing that air with a new "secret" cocktail, which doesn't appear on menu and instead has to be requested by name.
It's called 'A Boring Summer Cocktail' and while the name may raise eyebrows, it's because it's in collaboration with boutique local plant milk makers Boring Oat Milk.
Created by Lilian's manager Callum Ross and containing rum, strawberry syrup and coffee liqueur, the cocktail closely resembles a boozy strawberry milkshake, strained and served with a fresh strawb on the side. We have to keep that fruit and vegetable intake up over summer, of course.
Again, you will not find this on anything official. Ask for it by name at the bar and tell them we sent you. And get in quick, its on the menu - or off it, as the case may be - for a limited time.
Lilian can be found at 472 Richmond Road, Grey Lynn, Auckland. It's open daily from 5pm - late, with 'A Boring Summer Cocktail' available on request for a limited time.
